RecSports: Faculty & StaffFitness and WellnessRecSports offers Faculty and Staff members a number of opportunities for getting fit and staying healthy. Use of the HPER gymnasium, fitness area, and racquetball courts is available for all faculty and staff members during normal hours. For more options, more of the time, a RecSports membership provides full access to TRECS and Student Aquatic Center services, including group fitness, personal fitness training, and more. Memberships are available for far less than other local fitness clubs, and the low rate can be paid monthly through payroll deduction. Family memberships are also available. There are no any contracts or enrollment fees, so stop by the TRECS to join today! RecSports provides a wealth of opportunities for faculty and staff looking to improve their fitness and adopt a healthier lifestyle. The Wellness Program provides resources, education, and programs designed to help individuals learn more about physical wellness and information about campus and local programs and services. Group fitness classes provide opportunities to stretch, sweat, and dance your way to a healthier you and Personal Fitness Trainers can help design a workout plan based on your personal goals and needs. For faculty and staff interested in self-guided workouts, Free Fitness Orientations will help you get acquainted with the available equipment and the TRECS fitness area. CollaborationWhether reserving facility space for events or coordinating outdoor experiences, RecSports staff members are eager to work with UT faculty and staff in support of a variety of classes and programs. Student InvolvementRecSports programs and services represent a multitude of opportunities for student involvement. Not only can students join sport clubs, participate in intramural sports, and learn to climb or kayak, more students work at RecSports that almost any other campus department. Opportunities exist for students to learn facility and event management, training and instruction, advertising, and more. Also, RecSports staff members advise a number of practicum and internship students each year.
