RecSports Membership & Access Information
We are excited that you are considering joining RecSports. Please read the following information regarding memberships. Please feel free to call the RecSports Department office at 865-974-0492 if you have questions.
Membership is a privilege, which may be modified or revoked at the discretion of the RecSports Department and the University.
All memberships are non-transferable.
Membership Sign-Up Procedures

Memberships can be purchased from the TRECS Administrative Office (2nd floor) during regular business hours (Monday thru Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM). To download a copy of the membership form, please scroll to the bottom of the page. If you need special arrangements please call 865-974-2309.

Proof of UTK affiliation must be presented to purchase membership for all classifications.

UT employee must be a RecSports member to sponsor spouse/domestic partner and/or dependents.

Issues concerning validity of marriage or partner relationship will be turned over to the UT Director of Human Resources and Human Resources Department for verification.

Retirees must have a "Retirees" UTK ID Card.

Additional fee of $5 will be charged for a RecSports Membership Card for new members without UTK ID.
- RecSports photo ID cards will be processed at the Volcard office (Gate #13 at Neyland Stadium) after you have paid for your RecSports membership.
- If your RecSports card is lost or stolen, the cost for a replacement card is $30 at the Volcard office.

Payment options are cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, or payroll deduction.

The Payroll deduction option is only available to faculty/staff that are paid through the university's payroll office. Faculty, staff members and their spouse/domestic partner may purchase membership through payroll deduction on the UT employee's payroll account. The RecSports Department prefers payroll deduction for spouse and domestic partner membership; cash, check, Visa and MasterCard can be accomodated however the individual will be required to pay for a full year in advance ($144.00). All spouses and domestic partners are linked to the UT employee's RecSports membership data.

In order to cancel payroll deduction membership, you must fill out and sign a cancellation card at the RecSports office. (TRECS Room 201). The UT Payroll Office requires a signed and completed payroll deduction cancellation card to cancel payroll deduction of RecSports membership.
Parents & Dependent Policy

Children must live in the same household and be under the age of 21. (Certain restrictions are listed in the participant handbook for children and dependents)

Parents must accompany and have direct supervision of all children and dependents under 18 years of age.

Parents are expected to be familiar with the age restrictions posted in each activity area.

Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in group exercise classes or in the fitness areas at any time.
