Hike under steep rock faces and dip toes into secret waterholes in the Obed Gorge.

Description

Summer is hot. Scenic trails are cool, near big cliffs, views, along coldwater creeks.
After hiking 30 minutes through the forest of pine and rhododendron, the Clear Creek gorge and its 100 foot tall dead vertical cliffs come into view. The yellow and tan cliffs snack through the green forest, the creek blue pools reflect the sunny day.

Another 15 minutes of hiking brings you to The Point – the junction of two gorges with 180 degrees views. You’ll take a short break here, before scrambling down to the Obed Creek via some secret trails.

“Who wants to jump in first?” asks Angela, your trip leader. The water is cool and calm. A few new friends of yours remove their hiking clothes down to their bathing suits, while others are content to hang out on the shore.

SPLAT!

Jamie goes in first, with a shriek as she comes out, gasping for air. “That’s so perfect!” she pants flopping onto the sunbaked rock, legs still in the water. “This is awesome”

If conditions permit, you’ll hike about 2 miles to this spot only known to a few rock climbers. Trek up and down some hills, cross a shallow stream, skirt by towering (and overhanging) cliffs which might have climbers on them, and then arrive at your pool of clear, clean, cold mountain water. No need to swim or get wet if you don’t want.

Even if English isn’t your first language, the trip leaders can make sure you join the conversations and bond with your small group.

This trip is for you if you:
want to relax.
want to stretch your muscles.
want an easy hike with good views

This trip is not for you if:
