Learn the basics of paddling a kayak in easy and fun whitewater.

Experience amazing scenery and class I-II+ rapids.  Learn to ride the waves, dodge the holes, and have a great time on the river.

The amount of instruction that we received from instructors was great! I was very confident in the instructors’ abilities and felt like I was taught the kayaking basics well enough to succeed on the river.

When our coordinator was learning to whitewater kayak, he was terrified that he couldn’t stop when he wanted, couldn’t move the kayak how he wanted, and the New England water was ice cold. He was excited to see the trip end, though he enjoyed watching his new friends kayak – they all seemed to enjoy the trip way more than he did.

A few weeks later, his instructors persuaded him to join a more mellow trip to practice in moving in a baby rapid, not a scary “real” whitewater rapid. That mellow trip made kayaking fun. He was able to practice swimming out of an upside-down kayak and try harder kayaking moves in easy water, knowing he didn’t actually have to make the move if he messed up.

This day trip will improve your paddling, just like it did for our coordinator back in the day.

If you’ve never paddled outside, we’ll teach you how to comfortably move around the river and have fun while doing it.

And summer is the perfect time to learn!  Hot days are ideal for learning whitewater kayaking – you’ll want to get wet!

If you’ve been paddling class II but are nervous about stepping it up, we’ll help you get perfect eddy catches, ferries and peel outs so that you can comfortably paddle class II/III.

This trip is for you if you:
Have rafted before and think kayaking looks fun but want an easy river to try first.
Don’t think you’re ready to try rapids above class II+ but eventually would like to.
Are comfortable on class III rapids but aren’t catching the harder eddies.

This trip is not for you if you:
Feel comfortable on class III+ or higher whitewater.
Can always make the moves you want in good style and aren’t tired at the end of the day.
Cannot swim. You must know how to swim.
