Scramble among rock arches, waterfalls, and tunnels.
The cult classic of Honey Creek Loop in the Big South Fork National Recreation Area is like caving, canyoneering, and rock climbing added together to equal total fun.
Google search this hike and everywhere it’s listed, it gets 5 stars. Honey Creek gives you everything. Waterfalls? Check. Squirming through rock tunnels? Check. Scenic views? Check. Old Native American ruins? Check. Wet feet? Check. Big Smiles? Check!
The Honey Creek Loop is an amazing trail to hike with beautiful scenery. The trail is hard but short, with plenty of time for breaks and exploring before and after lots of steep climbs (and even climbing up boulders).
After being on campus all week studying, enjoy getting off campus and out of Knoxville to see new stuff and amazing places. As one past hiker said, “I didn’t realize that we had more than just the Smoky Mountains to explore!”
This trail mixes caving with hiking, so be ready to hike over, around, and through big rocks! If you’ve never hiked like this before, no worries! The trip leader teaches everyone hiking and scrambling techniques.
This is the perfect length loop for a day of #amazingHiking. The loop is also a Tennessee State Natural Area, which means it a perfect spot to relax and experience the wild of Tennessee.
Such an adventure and you’ll want to do this hike again in a heartbeat!
