Stand up paddle board on the Tennessee’s iconic Mountain Lake!
The mountains rise up from the water’s edge, soaring above you. See this scenic landscape from a new perspective.
“This was a great learning experience–totally from first time beginner to actually being able to stand up on the paddle board and paddle up river a ways with the group–I had wanted to try SUP for several summers but had not done so due to being a bit nervous to try it by myself. With the group and great instruction, it was so very “doable”
Panther Creek State Park’s Cherokee Lake gives you novel perspective to see the forest coming into springtime. From on the water, nothing obstructs your view of the oranges, reds, yellows of the oaks, maples, elm trees. The still water reflects the hills, as the light wind blows leaves in a left shower.
The hills around the lake start to look like “Winter is Coming” with the leaves dropping, and what better way to take it in than by gliding across Cherokee Lake on a stand up paddleboard.
The day starts by going over basic strokes used to navigate and control your board. Then we set off with lunch “on board” to explore the numerous rocky islands of Lake Cherokee. Once you’re comfortable on your board, your expert instructor teaches different stances so that you can paddle without with comfort regards of the conditions.
