Climb in a remote gorge perfect for new climbers.

Before you come down you look over your shoulder and notice the bottom of the gorge 200 feet down. Your friends are little specks, 50 feet beneath you but cheering that you reached the top.

You’re up next up, time to focus on getting to the top of Best Seat in the House. The first attempt went well, you made it up but had to sit on the rope a few times to rest. But the tips on how to rest without using the rope should come in handy on the second attempt. Eager and ready to reach the top, you start up the 5.9+ climb.

“Remember to shake your arms out!” shouts up your instructor Anna as you get past the difficult section. “This is a long climb so make sure you rest there. You can do this!” she coaches from the ground.

Back on horizontal ground, slightly out of breath but smiling, you high-five Anna, “thanks for the cheering and the reminder. I’m excited that I made it without falling!”

Before you came down you look over your shoulder and notice the bottom of the gorge and the rapids 200 feet down. Your friends are little specks, 50 feet underneath you but cheering now that you touch the top.

Spring climbing is warm but comfortable in the mid to low 70s; an amazing time to climb. Whether you don’t know what a belay is, or you spend 10 hours a week climbing the Vol Wall, your instructors can get you on climbs from easy to challenging (5.7 – 5.11).

If you know how to lead, you can lead on this trip (with our equipment) once we check you are solid.

This trip is for you if:
Want to try climbing outside at a famous sport climbing crag. The Obed is the perfect place. You’ll get plenty of help.
Want to meet friends who also climb.
Are looking to do something new.
Want feedback to make climbing easier

This trip is not for you if:
Aren’t comfortable walking across campus.
Are terrified of heights. Some fear is fine, we can help with that.
You want to climb harder then 5.11.
