Meet the Instructors

Certification: American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor

Major: Architecture and Spanish

Bio: I have been an instructor for over two years, and I teach all ages from Preschool to Adult. My goals are always for every individual in my classes to improve in one or more ways, have fun while doing it, and conquer their fears while learning something new. The best feeling is being able to see that improvement and courageousness firsthand when the student gets something they have been working hard on or overcoming something that once scared them.

Certification: American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor

Major: Criminal Justice and Political Science

Bio: Hi! I am Carly and I am originally from Colorado, so I love all things outdoorsy which has led me to my job as a lifeguard and swim instructor. I have been teaching swim lessons for a little over five years now! I really enjoy teaching preschool and levels 1 and 2, as I get to introduce a lot of children to the pool and lessons for the first time. I love teaching lessons as I get to share my love for water with people, while also encouraging safety. My overall goals for my students are to love all things water, while also understanding what they need to do to enjoy it safely, and to encourage them to keep progressing with their swimming skills.

Certification: American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor

Major: Masters in Sports Management

Bio: I am the graduate assistant of aquatics here at UT and I have been an instructor since April 2024. My favorite classes to teach are preschool and level 1. My favorite thing about teaching is getting to show kids how much fun you can have in the water and seeing kids conquer their fears. My goal with swim lessons is to help kids get more comfortable in the water and to be able to accomplish something by the end of lessons that they could not do before.
