Training Philosophy: I believe if you aren’t trying to move forward, you are instead taking steps back. That applies both to fitness and in life. I also believe in promoting a fun, healthy, and expressive environment, which makes consistency easier. I view movement and exercise as an art!
Major: Computer Engineering
Training Philosophy: The gym has always been my place to refocus and elevate myself to the next level. I want to share this experience with everyone by exposing them to training to help start or continue achieving goals, enjoying the gym, and feeling confident. Stay on your hustle and grind!
Major: Biomedical Engineering
Training Philosophy: Being healthy isn’t all about the way you look! I want to help people become comfortable in their bodies and find a passion for working out as a form of self-care. I never want my workouts to feel like a punishment. I want to pick workouts that you and your body will love! My job is to help you fall in love with your body again, not for the way it looks, but for what it can do. Aly also serves as our Fitness Program Assistant.
Training Philosophy: I’ve always had a passion for fitness and want to share that with others! I want to create a space where everyone feels comfortable to do something that makes them feel good.
Training Philosophy: Coming soon.
Training Philosophy: I love seeing progress, in myself and others, and I truly believe there is nothing as rewarding as watching someone learn to be confident in themselves. The gym can be a scary place, but putting yourself out there and making progress makes it all worth it.
Bio: My name is Jay Irwin, I am a senior here at UTK in the Sports Management major, I have been training clients for about 8 months now, and I have been involved in fitness for most of my life. I have been a part of several different aspects of fitness, from organized team sports growing up, to long-distance running and endurance in high school, and picking up weightlifting and powerlifting over the last few years. My passion for overall fitness has led me to wanting to help educate and motivate others through my choice in major as well as my position as a trainer here at TRECS.
Bio: My name is Mason. I’m a senior from Johnson City, TN. Growing up, I played and conditioned for basketball, from which my passion for fitness stems. In my free time, I enjoy training, spending time with friends and family, and doing outdoor activities. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and helping them reach their fitness goals!
Bio: I am a senior majoring in Kinesiology with a minor in Nutrition. My biggest hobby is working out which is pretty fitting for this field. I have been working out for over 5 years and don’t plan to stop anytime soon. I became a personal trainer so I could share my enthusiasm for the gym with others and motivate them to better themselves. One thing I love about the TRECs is the community. We’re all going through the same stresses and problems with school, but you still see so many people bettering themselves and getting in some physical activity every day.
Bio: I’m a junior kinesiology major, with a nutrition minor. Fitness has changed the way I view myself and my day-to-day life. I became a trainer because I want to help other people experience that change. I believe that confidence built in the gym translates to every other aspect of life. Not only do we begin to feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally, we feel more capable to go out and handle whatever our days throw at us and have the confidence to try new things.
Bio: What’s up y’all! My name is Evan Durham and I’m a senior here at UTK. I’m a Sport Management major, and I love all things sports and fitness related. I have been an athlete since age 3 and during that time I have played football, baseball, and street hockey. I’ve been in the weight room for nearly 10 years now, but I have taken it very seriously for the past 2 years in which I have fallen in love with the gym. I recently got certified to be a personal trainer, and I am excited to join the TRECS team with both 1 on 1 training and Group Fitness! In my free time I enjoy watching football and hockey, working out, running, and hanging out with my friends. My ultimate goal is to create a fitness brand with supplements, clothing, and a state-of-the-art gym, and I believe working at TRECS will allow me to build the foundational skills in order to achieve my goals!

It is my goal to not only improve my clients’ bodies but also their minds.
