All parking is controlled by UT Parking and Transit Services.

Parking at the University of Tennessee is by permit only.
Parking regulations are enforceable seven days a week, 24 hours a day, including holidays and breaks.
Visitor Parking Options
- Park on Volunteer Boulevard between Cumberland Avenue and UT Drive (which is a City of Knoxville street) and pay the meter.
- Purchase a daily parking permit at the Parking and Transit Services office—you will be assigned a specific lot for a specific time frame. Groups may purchase parking permits in advance of activities and competitions, including events held on nights and weekends.
Commuter Parking Options

Parking in the RPA is restricted to those utilizing RecSports facilities during regular operating hours. Attendees must have a current valid commuter or staff parking permit; and it is limited to three hours maximum from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- NOTE: This lot is heavily monitored to allow for maximum usage for RecSports attendees
- RecSports hours are posted by semester.
RPA has approximately 43 commuter parking spaces and 25 staff parking spaces. DO NOT park on yellow curbs, Facilities Services spaces, or handicap spaces without a permit. (Distance from TRECS: approx. 200 feet)
Parking on Volunteer Boulevard does not require a permit. This section of Volunteer is owned by the city and they enforce the parking meters. (Distance from TRECS: walking distance will vary depending on parking location.)
The C22 parking lot has 90 parking spaces. A commuter parking pass is required all day. All faculty/staff permits, even when accompanied by an orange dot permit, will not permit parking in this lot before 5 p.m. (Distance from TRECS: approx. 400 feet)
The S25 parking lot has 30 parking spaces. A staff parking pass is required during the day. Starting at 5 p.m., commuter passes can be utilized at all staff parking lots. (Distance from TRECS: approx 750 feet)
The C1 parking lot is a gravel lot and has 100 parking spaces. A commuter parking pass is required all day. (Distance from TRECS: approx. 1,200 feet)
The C11 parking lot has parking spaces. A staff or commuter parking pass is required all day. (Distance from TRECS: approx. 1,950 feet)
The S23 parking lot has 250 parking spaces. A staff parking pass is required during the day. Starting at 5 p.m., commuter passes can be utilized at all staff parking lots. This parking lot is not available during campus special events. (Distance from TRECS: approx. 1,600 ft)
The Volunteer Boulevard Parking Garage has dedicated staff, non-commuter, and commuter parking; there are 500 commuter parking spaces. A parking permit is required all day. (Distance from TRECS: approx. 1,500 feet)
The C8 parking lot is a commuter parking lot and has 150 parking spaces. A commuter parking pass is required all day. (Distance from TRECS: approx. 2,600 feet)
The Administrative Parking Garage has dedicated staff and commuter parking; there are 250 parking spaces. Staff parking is level G3, commuter parking is level G4. A staff or commuter parking pass is required all day. (Distance from TRECS: approx. 3,100 ft)
Parking is not permitted in student commuter parking areas, nor in the RecSports Parking Area (RPA) between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. except by special permit.
*Special event parking impacts the parking areas closest to Thompson-Boling Arena. In those instances, the lot becomes event parking (and a fee is required to park in these lots). Signage will indicate when these events occur. We recommend parking farther west or north of campus are your best alternatives.*
